Taking a screen shot in Windows can be done a few different ways. Depending on whether you have a Macintosh (Mac) keyboard or not. 


Windows Keyboard:


The images shown may not necessarily be exactly the same as your own keyboard. The keys will be in similar positions however.

  1. To take a screen shot and save it as a file.
    • Press the Windows button, and the PrtScn button on your keyboard.
    • The screen shot will appear in your screenshots folder, which is located in your pictures folder.

  2. To take a screen shot and have it copied so you can paste it wherever.
    • Press PrtScn.

  3. To take a screen shot of only one window.
    • Press Alt + PrtScn.
    • The image will be copied and you can paste it wherever you would like.


Mac Keyboard:


To take a screenshot on a Windows computer using a Mac keyboard, follow these steps.

  1. To capture the entire screen.
    • Press Function (fn) + Shift + F11.

  2. To capture the front most window.
    • Press Option (alt) + Function (fn) + Shift + F11.
