Answer
There are many places where you can find your Student ID (UID). Your UID is the Six (Scotch) or Five (PLC) Digit Number that the school uses to identify you. If you have recently been issued a laptop by the school, the first place to check would be the Tag on your Laptop Case. We print your Name and Student ID on the Tag so that it is readily accessible.
If you have taken off the tag, or never had one, the second place to look would be your Sharing Settings in System Preferences. To find this information:
- Open System Preferences .
- Click on the Sharing option.
- Look in the Top Bar where it says computer name. The 5 or 6 digit code on the left hand side is your Student ID.
Finally, if you still haven't found it, you can ask any teacher what your number is, or you can visit the Techcentre.
