Answer
Currently, all student laptops have CrashPlan . This acts as a backup device so that every time your computer connects to the school network, it also backs up your machine.
The Retention Period for student backup data is 6 Months. So if you suddenly realise that you have lost work and need to recover from a backup, the files will be available for up to 6 months.
Once a student leaves the College, they will be removed from CrashPlan, and their backups and license will be removed from the system as part of the off-boarding process. If you are leaving, it is imperative that you take all necessary documents with you, as once you have handed in your laptop, there is no way of recovering data.
