Q. What databases are available to me at Scotch?
There are 28 databases that students and staff have access to through the Scotch Library that provide valuable resources for your education and enjoyment. Akula (a JSTOR database)
Akula provides thousands of digitized documents relating to the history and culture of Africa through history. This is a fantastic resource for history, individuals & society and literature and allows you to learn more about African contexts.
Art with Full Text
This database covers a variety of topics from fine, decorative and commercial art to photography, folk art, film and architecture. Features full-text articles, indexing and abstracts from an array of publications.
Australia/New Zealand Reference Centre Plus
This resource is designed for Australian and New Zealand libraries and provides the largest collection of full text from leading regional and international newspapers and periodicals, full-text reference books, tens of thousands of full-text biographies, and a collection of images containing more than one million photos, maps, and flags.

History Reference Centre
History Reference Center offers full text from more than 1,620 reference books, encyclopedias and non-fiction books, cover to cover full text for more than 150 leading history periodicals, nearly 57,000 historical documents, more than 78,000 biographies of historical figures, more than 113,000 historical photos and maps, and more than 80 hours of historical video.
Scholarly resources on JSTOR include Archival and Current Journals, Books, and Primary Sources.
