At the Scotch Library, there are a variety of high fidelity USB Microphones that enable you to record high quality sound straight to your computer; handy for lesson narration, podcasts etc.
All of these microphones function and work in the same way.
- First, connect the Microphone to your computer via the USB Cord.
- At Scotch we have the Blue Yeti Snowball and the Samson Meteor USB Studio Microphone available for loan.

, QuickTime Player
. In this example I'll be using QuickTime Player
.
- Once open, you need to make sure that QuickTime Player
is using the connected microphone. Select File and then select New Audio Recording.
- Select The Drop Down Arrow (next to the red button) to make sure that you have selected your connected microphone, to be sure, you will see a tick next to the Microphone's Name.
