Question

How can I access OverDrive as a parent?

Answer

OverDrive  is an app that will let you read books electronically, on your computer or mobile device. Scotch has an OverDrive library available for students and parents, which can be accessed with your User ID.

If you are a parent that would like to access OverDrive, you can go through the Middle or Senior Library websites; or alternatively you can download the app on your mobile device. You can check out the video found here for an overview of the app.

If your child is in Junior School and doesn't yet have a laptop, you can log in to OverDrive for them on their iPad with your own User ID - however, you need to be aware that as an adult, you will have access to everything on OverDrive, as opposed to students' accounts which are age-restricted. As such, supervision will be required in this circumstance. If you would like your child to be logged in with their own User ID - all students have one, but don't normally receive it until year 5 - they are welcome to visit 1 Degree anytime and we will be happy to organise this for them.
