Answer
To add notices, slideshows of photographs, or videos to the Scotch digital signage:
- Export the image/slide that has been sent to library@scotch.wa.edu.au as a JPEG file
- Size needs to be 1920 x 1080 pixels
- Open the BrightSign server (smb://sctdata02.scotch.local/Brightsign)
- Select the Content folder
- Select the current year folder
- Select the relevant sub-school folder
- Drag image into folder and name it appropriately (ie. SS_InternationalCuisineDay)
- Launch BrightAuthor
on the Clickview desktop machine
- Select File and then Playlists (SS General or MS General)
- Click the folder icon under Media Library
- Navigate to BrightSign server and select image file
- Drag and drop image into playlist in the window on the right
- Double click on the slide to change the time it remains on the screen if necessary
- Click Upload to Network in the top right corner
- Click Yes for first pop-up
- Click Okay for second pop-up
- Click Yes for third pop-up
**In the Manage tab you can see the televisions which are active (green) and where they are located in each sub-school
To make a photographic slideshow (MP4 format, 1920 x 1080 pixels):
- Download the photos you have selected from Vidigami
- Select 'Low resolution print' and tick 'Use original if selected size is unavailable'
- Open Lightroom
- Click on Library tab
- Click Import in the bottom left corner and locate the relevant folder and images
- Click Import
- Click the letter 'P' to flag the photos that you want to include (or click on the flag button)
- Limit the number of photographs to a maximum of 40-60
- Click on the Slideshow tab
- Under the Backdrop drop-down menu on the right, select a photo and drag it into the Background Image panel. Change the opacity to 40%.
- Double click the title to change it and grab the edges of the text box to resize it
- Click Export Video in the bottom-left corner and enter a title that includes the sub-school and year (ie. SS Valedictory 2017)
- If the file has exported as an M4V file, change the file extension to MP4
- Add the file to the relevant folder on the BrightSign server and follow Step 7 onwards as listed above for JPEGs
