How do I use the AV in the Lighthouse Studio 1?


Answer

The new Studio 1 in the lighthouse is equipped with TV Screens, speakers, microphones and an Apple TV to cast your device to. To connect your device to suit your needs, follow the instructions below.

To play audio:

  1. There is an audio input plate that you can directly plug into to play music from your iPhone, iPad, tablet or phone. The volume for this is simply controlled by turning the volume up or down on your device to the desired level.

 

To project media:

  1. Press the ON button and wait for the projector to power on and the screen to Descend.
  2. Connect your laptop using the HDMI to mini DP cable stored in the cupboard. 
  3. Press the Wallplate button.
  4. If playing audio use the ^ and v buttons to Increase or Decrease the Volume.
    1. If you need to stop displaying image or audio use the Mute button to stop projection. This will not stop any media on your computer.
  5. To turn the system off, press the Off button.

 

To connect using Airplay:

  1. Turn On the projector using the wall plate
  2. Select the Airplay input
  3. Follow instructions from following the FAQ instructions here.
  4. If playing audio use the ^ and v buttons to Increase or Decrease the Volume.
    1. If you need to stop displaying image or audio use the Mute button to stop projection. This will not stop any media on your computer.
  5. To turn the system off, press the Off button.

To use the microphones:

  1. There are two handheld microphones that can be used in Studio 2. These are kept behind the desk at the Lighthouse reception and can be checked out for use in this space.
  2. Turn the microphone On using the Switch on the side of the microphone
    1. Your voice will mix in with any audio playing through any of the other systems within the room. This cannot be adjusted. 
  3. Once you are done using the microphone, return the switch to the Off position and return the microphone to the Lighthouse Reception.
