Answer
H Drives are in the process of being phased out, and as such you will need to move the data from your H Drive to a different location.
Work-related files and folders can be moved to Staff Shared, while any other files should be relocated to your computer or an external hard drive.
These instructions are only for Mac users.
Transferring Work Files to Staff Shared
- To open your H Drive, navigate to the shared folders. This is located on Finder under SCTDATA02. Open the Home folder to access the H Drive.
- Open the folder that is titled with your Scotch UID (shown below).
- Select the files to be moved, then Right Click on them and select Copy Items from the drop-down menu. (You can also use the keyboard shortcut Command + C to copy these files.)
- To save those files into Staff Shared, double click on the Staff Shared folder under SCTDATA02.
- Select the folder where you would like to save your files. You can create a new sub-folder for your files by clicking File, and then New Folder from the drop-down menu.
- Right Click within your new folder and select Paste Items. (This will begin to copy your Files across to this new location.)
- Repeat this process to move the files that you need/want.
Transferring Work/Home Files to Your Device
This section will be very similar the above, however it will detail how to copy files that you may want on your on computer/device, or on an external hard drive, like a USB.
- To save files locally on your device, navigate to the Documents folder on Finder.
- Create a new folder for your files by clicking File, and then New Folder from the drop down. (Name it whatever you want.)
- Right Click within this new folder and select Paste Items.
- Repeat this process to move the files that you need/want.
