The guidelines for content created at Scotch College are outlined below.

 

DIGITAL CONTENT (e.g. digital signage, website banners etc.)

  • Use any images or text in your design in compliance with the STATUTORY TEXT AND ARTISTIC LICENSE
  • Digital content containing copyright images and/or text should be visible to the school community only, unless referenced or accompanied by our copyright statement.
     
  • Image dimensions for Digital Signage: 1920 x 1080 pixels.
     
  • Image dimensions for Libguide Banners: 1920 x 400 pixels.

 

PRINTED CONTENT (e.g. classroom posters, handouts, bookmarks etc.)

  • Use any images or text in your design in compliance with the STATUTORY TEXT AND ARTISTIC LICENSE
  • If the content contains the Scotch College logo or name and is going to be distributed outside of the Scotch College Community, it will need to be approved by Scotch Marketing.

 

SEMI-PERMANENT DISPLAYS (e.g. vinyl wrapping, static window signage etc. with a lifespan of 1+ years)

  • Copyrighted images and/or text must be referenced OR appropriate imagery should be sourced from a stock image site (there is a list of stock image sites below).

 

COPYRIGHT STATEMENT

  • Content that will be shared with other educational institutions must include the following copyright statement:
    "Copyrighted images and/or text have been used in this design in compliance with the Statutory Text and Artistic License. Copying or sharing must be for educational purposes only."

STATUTORY TEXT AND ARTISTIC LICENSE

  • The Statutory Text and Artistic License (http://www.smartcopying.edu.au/glossary/glossary/statutory-text-and-artistic-licence) allows educational institutions to copy Artistic Works in both digital and print form for Educational Purposes.
     
  • Artistic Works include paintings, sculptures, graphics, cartoons, etchings, lithographs, photography, drawings, plans, maps, diagrams, charts, buildings, models of buildings, moulds and casts for sculptures.
     
  • Educational Purposes includes use of copyright images for teaching, and production of course-relevant materials.
