Q. What do I do at Scotch if my keyboard isn't working?
If you find yourself in a position with a broken keyboard come down to the Tech Centre (Senior students) or the JML (Junior and Middle students) IMMEDIATELY. We will issue you with a loan computer, and collect your computer for repair. A broken keyboard can be anything from keys not responding, to Z typing Y instead of Z.
Please note, if your keyboard is broken due to water damage then it cannot be covered under warranty.
When you come down to see us make sure that you have backed up your computer recently (ensure CrashPlan has backed up in the last 24 hours).
If this happens Outside of Term Time, you can still bring your laptop to the Tech Centre. We are here all year round during term holidays. The only exception is that we aren't here in the Christmas/New Year Week.
Do not take your computer to the Apple Store if there are any problems. Come IMMEDIATELY to the Tech Centre. We will fix your Scotch registered laptop. If you take it to the Apple store they will remove certain items that allow your computer to function. Without these preferences your computer will not work! If this occurs on a weekend please come see us first thing on a Monday morning.
