Answer

Hyperlinks are a really handy thing to use in your FAQs to interlink relevant answers, or insert URLs/email addresses. LibAnswers allows you to hyperlink in a URL or an Email Address.

Hyperlink a Website

  1. Select the Text you wish to hyperlink.

  2. Click on the Hyperlink Button.

  3. Click on the drop down menu under Link Type. Select URL.

  4. Type in the Link you wish to use (in this example we are using home.scotch.wa.edu.au).

    • There are a few things to note when adding in a URL hyperlink:
      • If you are copying the link from the preview function in LibAnswers, you MUST delete the ?m=p
      • If you do not do this, the link will not open!
      • It is also a good idea to test any link you insert into the answer by copying and pasting it into a new window to make sure that it works.

  5. Select the Target Tab.

  6. Click on the drop down menu under Target and Select the option New Window (_blank). This is a CRUCIAL step. If you do not do this, the FAQ page will be redirected when the link is clicked.

  7. Click OK and your hyperlink will now be embedded!

Hyperlink an Email

  1. Select the Text you wish to hyperlink.

  2. Click on the Hyperlink Button.

  3. Click on the drop down menu under Link Type. Select E-mail.

  4. Type in the details required. It is not necessary to include a Message Body if you don't want to. This email will open in the users preferred browser.

  5. Click OK and your Email hyperlink will now be embedded!
